Ryder Wright will be having a week of fun for all ages at Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. This is quite impressive for someone who doesn’t have much age.
The 18-year-old saddle bronc rider, who is just six months old and from Milford High School in Utah, has won five go-rounds. This feat was unmatched by any other rookie Wrangler NFR. Friday night’s fifth victory was Tennis Courts in the ninth of ten round at the Thomas &Mack Center. Ryder Wright scored 88.5 points aboard Vitalix Alpha Dog. This was three points more than his uncle Jesse Wright who came in second at 85.5.

The Wright family actually filled six of the six positions. Cody Ryder, Ryder’s father, took fourth place, while Cody’s brother Cody scored 83.5. Rebecca Bradshaw, who is married to Cody, was fifth.
Ryder was back in fashion. Ryder, a shy teenager, burst onto the NFR scene winning four of the first round. The next four rounds were not his best, but he was able to win the first four. He then won the final round and left Friday night in front of a boisterous crowd.
- It’s unbelievable. Ryder stated that it’s more than a dream come true. It’s hard to describe.
- His dad’s experience was a great help on Friday night, as is so often the case.
It was a good feeling, but I wasn’t sure ryder wright how they would score it
Ryder stated that ryder wright watched his dad ride the same horse and win in San Juan Capistrano. I was excited to have him and to be able to ride him like my dad. It was a good feeling, but I wasn’t sure how they would score it.
It was a very good ride, and Ryder was able to end his four-night streak. Ryder was able to learn a lot from Cody’s ride, but his uncles and older brother Rusty also assisted him, keeping him from becoming overwhelmed by the first NFR.
Ryder Wright stated, “They definitely play an important role in my success.” They’re experienced and know how to manage things. It’s amazing to have such support.
It is at least as amazing for dad to watch his son go on a record-setting NFR. Cody was unsure of what to say but was proud to be a father.
“Heck, I don’t know. Cody stated that he is just taking it one step at a time. He had some bad luck, but it didn’t bother him.
Ryder Proved his Father Right
Cody had predicted big things for his son before the NFR. Ryder Wright proved his father right, but dad wasn’t surprised by the outstanding performance.
